French PM Bayrou's July 28, 2025, condemnation that "We did not negotiate. We capitulated" wasn't hyperbole—it was a blueprint for the Trump admin's "trade deal." This isn't diplomacy; it's economic coercion.

The "deal" forces a XX% tariff on EU goods, hiking average duties from XXX% to 17%, while US imports face near-zero. This, plus a mandated $750B US energy purchase, is why Hungary's PM Orban said Trump "ate Ursula von der Leyen for breakfast." It's not a deal when one side dictates terms & the other pays.

The admin's "America First" trade policy isn't about mutual prosperity; it's about unilateral extraction. European consumers & producers will pay the price.
