“Superman” likely to lose hundreds of millions of dollars. How can Hollywood continue like this? Everyone involved is making good money as the studios run red.

Superman at $503m global box office after XX days, now starting the fast slide in revenue (55-60% weekly).

The cost numbers are guesses. Production of $225m seems low given all the special effects, the big cast, and re-shoots. Marketing estimated at $125m - $200m. 

Assume total of $400m cost, box office of $600-700m => loses a few hundred million before streaming revenue. I doubt toy & dvd money is much these days.

Tentpole films have long carried Hollywood, big profits supporting break-evens and bombs. Now their business model is broken. The golden bonanza has ended, and serious cost-cutting is coming.
