🇺🇸 Macro pressures are mounting. It’s not just the government feeling the squeeze – the broader economy is showing signs of strain. Growth is slowing (the Fed recently trimmed its 2025 GDP forecast to ~1.4%, down from 1.7%) and credit conditions are tightening. Banks have pulled back on lending since 2022, and liquidity in the financial system is drying up as the Fed shrinks its balance sheet. In fact, the Fed’s quantitative tightening (QT) program has drained about $XXX trillion of liquidity from markets so far. In short, financial conditions have become restrictive – a recipe for economic slowdown.
