You don't remember the 70's very well do you.  I'm sure you will remember the 80's though.  But maybe not so well.

You might want to do some research.

Because when two Miners killed a taxi driver with a kerbstone dropped into his car (I'm sure it was not intended murder), the miners went from total support to people wouldn't even look at them when they went to the pub for a beer.

If you don't think public support matters you have already lost.
