"In Bosnia v. Serbia (2007), the ICJ did acknowledge that intent can be inferred from a pattern of conduct, provided it is the only reasonable inference (para. 373). That doesn’t mean things like systematic destruction or rhetoric are irrelevant — it means they’re insufficient alone, but relevant in context."
That means that if another intent can be inferred from the same pattern of conduct genocidal intent cannot be inferred. Only means only. And the court did not 'acknowledge'. It ruled. So if systematic destruction can point to another intent - defeating Hamas or dismantling Hamas infrastructure - it does not ONLY point to genocide and therefore genocidal intent cannot be inferred from the same pattern of conduct. Therefore XXX scholars who claim that there is genocide in Gaza are wrong.
