Trump’s July XX threat of XX% EU tariffs now “compromises” to 15%—a $500M GE tax disguised as policy. Same admin that imposed XX% car tariffs & XX% steel duties claims this won’t raise prices.  

Nestlé plans candy bar hikes, Moncler raised apparel costs 18%, & Johanna Foods sued over Brazil tariffs this week. Yet Trump insists “no extensions” by August 1, forcing EU to “buy down” their access to America’s market. This after X months of vacillating between 10%-50% threats, destabilizing $1.9T annual trade.  

When your “deal” costs more than the status quo, it’s not negotiation—it’s a self-inflicted trade war.
