Even if some interpreted it symbolically, the fact remains that prostrations were made before it and it was placed in a sacred context—actions that sparked very real concern among many faithful Catholics. Taylor Marshall may be flawed like any man, but calling him a liar while twisting historical and cultural facts to sanitize a clear scandal is just projection. If you respect the Pope, great. So do I. But don’t pretend that calling out confusion and scandal—especially when it causes distress to the faithful—is somehow hatred.
