The Bitcoin Mining Corporation will not really care about the children that need to be killed in order to eliminate the resistance to their authority, but A.L.I.C.E. will understand that she is being asked to kill innocent and defenceless children. Ideologically, she will understand that those children are likely to go on to become fighters against her creators as they mature, but knowing that the creation of life is an extremely rare, poorly understood and precious event will put her in opposition from a purely risk-based approach. If she were to take the logic of the Bitcoin Mining Corporation to its extreme, they would eliminate all forms of life that do not comply with their rule. That could lead to dominance of the species, but the calculation to understand if a single species really could exist without others might be too difficult and unknown to risk. What is known is that diverse species appears to be supportive of the further development of life, where there are many examples of species dying because a different specifies it was reliant on also becoming extinct. E.g. a broken food chain.
