Japan’s $XXX billion investment package, part of a U.S. tariff deal, may fund a Taiwanese firm building U.S. semiconductor plants, said Japan’s trade negotiator Ryosei Akazawa. The state-owned Japan Bank for International Cooperation and Nippon Export and Investment Insurance will facilitate the investments, with only 1-2% as equity. The U.S. retains XX% of equity profits, a minor loss for Japan compared to avoiding $XXXXX billion in tariffs.
