He is a lone soldier from Argentina. This young man left his family and friends to come to Israel and enlist in the IDF. Because he is a Jew. And the Jewish state is fighting for its life. Yair’s fellow soldiers were touched by his story. They couldn’t believe that they could go home to spend time with their parents and families while Yair didn’t have that luxury. They decided to do something about it. The soldiers in his unit quietly raised money. And they bought airplane tickets for Yair’s parents to come to Israel for the end of training ceremony where he would receive his coveted beret. As Yair finished the final trek before the ceremony, seeing all his brothers at arms being greeted by their families, he was suddenly surprised as his parents appeared! Such a beautiful gesture. Such a powerful moment. May God bless Yair with safety and success in his service.
