JUSTIN: Well-known businessman Jaco Van Dyk (52), owner of Van Dyk Petroleum, tragically died in a car accident on Saturday around 21h00, approximately 7km from Grootfontein towards Otavi in Otjozondjupa region.

According to a police report, the driver of a black Toyota Land Cruiser Station Wagon allegedly lost control of the vehicle after hitting the Calvent Bridge. 

The vehicle overturned, and Van Dyk, who was traveling alone, was ejected from the car and died on the scene.

Preliminary findings confirm that he was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the accident.

His next of kin have been informed, and police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
