🚨 ELON: STARSHIP’S NEXT STEP? AN ORBITAL PROPULSION DEPOT

"The next big technology challenge after achieving full reuse of the ship is orbital refilling, where we actually transfer propellant in orbit.

Kind of like aerial refueling, but in space. 

In this case, it's orbital refilling. 

I say “refilling” instead of “refueling” because most of what’s transferred is actually liquid oxygen as opposed to fuel.

For orbital refilling, you need X Starships to come together, dock, and transfer propellant from one to the other, and, far in the future, to an orbital propellant depot.

It doesn’t sound hard; it should go. I mean, it’s very achievable. 

There’s nothing impossible being talked about here, but it is very tricky to do."
