It's been like that for a long time Angelica but you are just "seeing it" now.

Truth is nobody in the West cares about Taiwan (or any other place in Asia, or outside of the West). Taiwan is just an anti-China tool for them and nothing else. Anything that happens in Taiwan that is reported will thus be framed in the context of how it relates to China.
