VinGroup could also restructure and sell many parts of its business to pay down debt. Vietnam Real Estate market is in correction phase, which is the main source of revenue/cash generation for VinGroup. XanhSm(major $grab Rival in Vietnam) and VinFast(Faked more than EV XX% sales to XanhSm). VinFast cannot sell its EVs in SEA, NA, and EU, so it turned to XanhSm, its smaller subsidiary of VinGroup. Many were saying that China central bank would rescue Evergrande, but it did not. VinGroup total debty is $9.62B on paper, meaning it could be much higher like the case of Evergrande relating to inflated RE assets price. According to its most recent financial reporting on paper, for every X Unit of equity there would be over XXX Units of debt, and this is MASSIVE! How are they going to pay the interest payment on its corporate bond? They are burning $4B -$5B cash a year to sustain VinFast and XanhSm. Will Pham Nhat Vuong come up with billions of magical dollar somewhere? The most recent was $2.1B personal money?? Where did he get this personal money? is it from the central bank? How the hell $GRAB is winning against central bank and remain profitable and FCF+? So $Goto may be confiscated soon. And VinGroup may go BK soon? Is it all lucks for @AnthonyPY_Tan SuperApp ? No, Subsidies weaken innovation. Innovation will win eventually. When heavily govt funded businesses rely too much on free money, they don't care about the customers, they don't care about innovation. And that is exactly why they are losing to $GRAB. Conclusion: VinGroup may not go away completely, but if it cannot meet its debt payment obligation, VinFast and XanhSm will not survive. XanhSm will not be able to compete in Indonesia(XanhSm just started enterting), the largest market for $GRAB. Recently Vietnam govt is forcing a new law that requiring most cities to have Electric bike/scooters and replacing all ICE cars by 2026-2028. I mean, clearly Vingroup lobbied the govt to force citizens to buy VinFast garbage products. This is unsustainable. You need to build a better products at a good price for consumers to buy. Most vietnamese people prefer Honda, Toyota. This is just sad to watch, putting one company debt burden on the entire country. This is just bad. I don't have the answer for this one. But I do know this is unsustainable. And it will not end well for VinGroup. Alright, That is it. Not Financial Advice!
