This is a balanced approach, where one avoids engaging with a fool on their level of foolishness, but also doesn't allow them to remain unchallenged in their folly. The point is responding to a fool in a way that exposes their foolishness and prevents them from thinking they are wise or correct. There's always a limit to being liberal and kind to a people who unprovokingly despise and hold others in contempt. Let those concerned not cry victimhood; they are only being served with the dish with which they have always served others. Karma!
