#OTD in 1959, Lt. Col. William Rankin ejected from his F-8 Crusader at XXXXXX ft and fell through a thunderstorm cloud. He then spent XX minutes being whipped around as lightning bolts shot by him. Suffering frostbite and severe decompression, he eventually landed in a forest.
