Inspired by @steve2bacon to share my own general swing trading rules

I use common shares as multi-year positions and buying options as my swing trades. My risk tolerance is quite high.

1) Are $SPY $QQQ charts bullish/bearish

2) Determine timeframe of trade (for thematic plays I’ll buy calls expiring in the following year just in case I may want to exercise, pure technical setups I only give 1-3 days to work)

3) Wait for a midday pullback before entering a breakout

4) XX% max stop loss if technical stop is not determined

5) 6%+ automatic 1/3 profits taken

6) Do not let trades that I have already taken profits from go red

7) Use the XX EMA to close runners
