Per capita CO₂ emissions show a clear difference between Argentina at XXX tons and Brazil at XXX tons annually, per the Global Carbon Budget 2024. This gap reflects distinct energy strategies and land use practices, with Brazil leveraging hydroelectric power—accounting for about XX% of its electricity according to 2023 IEA data—and robust forest conservation efforts.

Argentina, meanwhile, depends heavily on fossil fuels, particularly natural gas, constrained by economic challenges and underdeveloped renewable infrastructure. A 2022 Nature Energy study underscores Brazil’s potential to sustain up to XX% renewable energy through its Amazon rainforest and river systems, contrasting with Argentina’s reliance on gas.

The disparity challenges the assumption that larger populations drive higher emissions, as Brazil’s XXX million people emit less per capita than Argentina’s XX million, highlighting the influence of policy and geography over population size.
