true! conscious evil is a complicated exercise, it assumes that the AI understands our moral framework and intends to act specifically opposite of it for some reason.

the simple difference of goals is much easier to achieve, and is the root of all moral disagreement to begin with.

I think what's more scary is that every conjecture we make about the behavior of an all-powerful AI should realistically also apply to humans should they end up in possession of similar power and capability, but this is not popular to speak about afaik.

a personal theory of mine is that solving the human issue first could potentially provide us some insight, but I am not too confident in it, just throwing in a thought. :)
