@ChrisMartzWX Industrial scale solar/wind need hi-voltage transmission lines to connect to the grid. SDG&E Sunrise line cost $2BILLION. Proposed Orange line to connect solar to LA est. at $8-9BILLION. Right through wildfire prone areas.

That's roughly 7+ gas power plants near existing lines.
