Major General Doung Somneang, Commander of Cambodia's Division 7, has tragically been killed in action during clashes with Thai forces at Phu Makheua.

According to reports, Cambodian soldiers attempted a counter-attack to reclaim the area but were met with fierce resistance. Several casualties reported, including General Somneang, who was struck by an artillery shell.
