The @arbitrum DAO has taken a significant step toward streamlining governance by approving a constitutional change: the quorum threshold has been lowered from X% to XXX% of total votable #tokens.

That might sound small, but it makes a big difference.

🧮 What Changed?

Before:
â›” Quorum required 223M ARB to pass any constitutional proposal.

Now:
âś… New threshold is ~201M ARB, a XX million ARB reduction, making it easier for the community to pass proposals.

📊 Why It Matters

🔹Improved Proposal Efficiency: In a #decentralized system, hitting quorum can be a bottleneck, especially for critical decisions. This change lowers the friction without compromising #Decentralization.

🔹Wider Participation Impact: Even if voter turnout slightly drops, proposals can still reach quorum. That means more ideas can move forward without being stalled by technical thresholds.

🔹Flexibility, Not Centralization: A XXX% reduction might seem minor, but it signals the DAO’s intention to remain nimble, while maintaining a secure and transparent governance structure.

🔍 A Sign of Maturing Governance

As the Arbitrum ecosystem grows, spanning L2s, Orbit chains, Stylus-powered #dApps, and #DePINs, the governance layer must evolve with it. This decision reflects a commitment to pragmatic decentralization: empowering builders, without drowning them in red tape.

More reachable quorum = more meaningful progress.

Arbitrum isn’t just scaling Ethereum. It’s scaling governance.

Arbitrum Everywhere.💙🧡
