(4/8) VENUS LIFEFINDER

Rocket Lab is going to Venus

Rocket Lab is planning the first-ever private mission to Venus, aiming to drop a probe into the planet’s cloud layer in search of organic molecules.

Using Neutron (switched recenty from Electron to allow enhanced capabilities) + Explorer, the probe will target ~30 miles altitude, where temperatures and pressure are surprisingly Earth-like.

Earlier this year, $RKLB announced the completion of the probe's heat shield fit check and instrument integration tests.

It’s bold, low-cost science that could help answer one of the biggest questions out there: Was (or is) there life in Venus' atmosphere?
