🇪🇺 EUROPE LAUNCHES CO2-MAPPING & EARTH-OBSERVATION SATELLITES

A Vega C rocket lifted off from French Guiana, carrying MicroCarb and four CO3D satellites to orbit in a textbook mission.

MicroCarb, led by CNES, will track global carbon dioxide with one-part-per-million precision from XXX miles up—helping scientists pinpoint greenhouse gas sources and sinks.

The four CO3D satellites, built by Airbus, will scan Earth’s land in 3D with 20-inch resolution, mapping everything between -60° and +70° latitude for at least six years.

It’s Vega C’s third straight success after its rocky 2022 failure - and a big win for climate science.
