Former President Donald Trump stated that Barack Obama will likely evade accountability for falsely alleging Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election, due to the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on presidential immunity. “He’s probably shielded by immunity, but those around him aren’t. He committed crimes, no question, but immunity will likely protect him,” Trump said. White House spokesperson Karolina Levit clarified that President Trump aims to pursue those responsible for the “Russian dossier,” referring to the false narrative that his 2016 win against Hillary Clinton was solely due to Russian support.
