Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez Welcomes Macron's Decision to Recognize Palestine

"WE MUST TOGETHER PROTECT WHAT NETANYAHU IS TRYING TO DESTROY"

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has supported the decision of French President Emmanuel Macron to recognize the state of Palestine.

           "I welcome France's support for the recognition of the state of Palestine on behalf of Spain and other European countries. We must all work together to protect what Netanyahu is trying to destroy," the statement said.

           Sanchez noted that the creation of two states is the only solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

           Macron announced his intention to recognize the state of Palestine at the UN General Assembly in 2026. He noted that this would help end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in the Gaza Strip, as well as provide comprehensive assistance to the local population.

            Palestinian Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh expressed gratitude to Macron for the recognition of the state.
