I just read the “WTF is ComputeFi” article by @cysic_xyz and I'm here to break it down.

ComputeFi isn’t some new trend word. It’s a shift in how we think about computational power.

AI needs compute to run. ZK needs compute to prove. And most of that compute is just sitting idle, in data centers, gaming rigs, even phones.

That’s like owning gold mines but leaving them untouched.

ComputeFi turns that idle power into a usable, yield-generating network. You plug in your device, someone else runs their workload (AI or ZK), and the system pays everyone fairly.

What Filecoin did for storage and helium did for bandwidth, Cysic is doing for compute.

But they’re not just writing smart contracts. Cysic builds custom hardware, ships real chips, and connects everything into a global proving network, one that can scale both ZK and AI inference at the same time.

So what is ComputeFi?

It’s the financial layer for the most valuable resource of the internet.
