keep in mind that for etfs such as spy the voting rights are with blackrock / vanguard / whichever other issuer so although the ubo of the assets is an investor the decision power lays with the custodian. i don’t think is bad per se, blackrock is better than ct at voting on shareholder actions but this concentration of decision power among large etf issuers is an issue many are not aware of.
