A smart friend kept buying his employer shares via ESPP for 6-8 yr, the price did rise from $XX to $XXX.
He was lucky, made big money.

Ideally he should have grown that corpus to 8-10 Cr & stay RICH. Instead he upgraded his Flat, borrowed more money from Bank, he is now working double hard.
