On July 26th, 1986, Civil Guard Lieutenant Ignacio Mateu Istúriz and agent Adrián González Revilla were attempting to disarm a bomb planted by the socialist Basque separatist group ETA in a field near Arechavaleta, Spain when it exploded, killing both of them.
