Thousands of Malaysians from all walks of life hold a #TurunAnwar (#DownAnwar)  march into Kuala Lumpur especially Dataran Merdeka or the Independence Square today calling Prime Minister @anwaribrahim to step down.

The marchers from the city and outside Kuala Lumpur first assembled at various locations around the city such as at Sogo on Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Masjid Jamek on Jalan Tun Perak and Masjid Negara before marching to Dataran Merdeka around 2pm.

Many of the marchers were from opposition political parties, NGOs and individuals who were not happy with Anwar's nearly three years administration vis-à-vis high cost of living, and his failure to keep his political promises.

At the Independence Square several political leaders gave their speeches criticising Anwar.

Also seen at the rally was former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad who were the #TurunAnwar black t-shirt.
