🤔 What makes RIC more consequential than BRICS?

BRICS is focused mostly on trade and economy. RIC, on the other hand, can involve military and security understandings, short of a formal treaty like NATO.

🇮🇳🇨🇳 For example, China and India can come to an understanding of the spheres of influence. India can have more influence in its neighbors, while staying away from the South China Sea. Perhaps China and Russia can even mediate truce between India and Pakistan. As for the India-China border issues, the two nations can solve them with some compromises or simply agree to maintain the status quo for a couple of more decades.

🛡️ RIC can also bring other nations into a peace/security architecture. For example, Japan and South Korea might be inspired by the RIC alliance, if that guarantees economic prosperity and peace.
