University of Namibia Vice Chancellor Professor, Kenneth Matengu, Elected as President of the Association of the Governing Board of  African Universities (AAU)

In a completed General Conference of Association of African Universities which took place from XX to XX July 2025 in Rabat Morocco, Matengu made history by being elected with XXXX% of votes and becoming the 14th President of the Governing Board of AAU.

Matengu is the only Namibian academic to hold two continental academic governance titles as he is also serving as the President of Pan-African African University Council alongside his current role as the University of Namibia (UNAM)’s Vice-Chancellor.

Among his academic accolades, Matengu has a PhD (exemia cum laude) in Innovation Diffusion and Development from the University of Eastern Finland.
