Elon just announced Grok’s “Auto” mode - it now decides how much compute to apply to your question:

You can override “Auto” mode and force heavy thinking at will with one tap."

Simple ask? It replies fast. Complex prompt? It calls in the digital think tank with full-blown reasoning.
