Because these companies are government backed, they don’t need their product releases to be financial successes. Of course, eventually they will be. But right now, they’re marketing. That’s it. The whole point of humanoid robots is that they can seamlessly integrate into existing human system/infrastructure. You need a functioning hand to do that. It’s that simple. And the hand is extremely complex and a difficult challenge to nail down. Watching this video, you’ll notice that the hand on this bot isn’t even remotely a hand. It’s a static reference point for acrobatic stunts. I’m very confident that Tesla will beat Unitree to market with a functional, useful, economically viable humanoid.
