This is Economic Times, an Indian English language  newspaper that focuses on business, finance, economic & a few big national & international news.  It also covers crime news from Purnia, Bihar. No such news coverage from any other state. Bihar, is apparently the ONLY place in India where crime exists… The rest of the country is living in a blissful, crime free utopia today.

Who reads ET?  It caters to an affluent demographic - business professionals, decision makers, investors & anyone interested in the Indian economy, international finance.  So, the idea is to deter anyone from investing here. Bihar is bad.

This is how a skewed narrative subtly but surely undermines the historical greatness of a place…. making you question and even dislike your own identity.
