ERIC’S LATEST SPIN ON TNB TAX CASE – LET’S CLEAN UP THE MESS-

TNB’s total tax assessments from LHDN = RM10.09 billion
- Waived in settlement = RM2.44b
- Already paid = RM1.76b
- Outstanding amount (as of July 2025) = RM5.89 billion, not RM5.05b.
So Eric, maybe start by updating your figures before trying to stir another false outrage.
- Here’s what actually happened-
1- The tax claim isn’t new or “Madani-made”.
These go back to 2018–2021, during previous administrations. The dispute was over reinvestment allowances, a technical accounting matter- not some surprise "raid".
2- TNB accepted it – that means they found the claim valid.
They settled. They paid. LHDN waived RM2.44 billion - that’s not what a “sneaky tax grab” looks like.

3- TNB is not some victim here.
It’s a profitable, regulated monopoly. In FY2024, it posted over RM3.5 billion net profit. This tax doesn’t change dividend policy overnight - nor does it crush your EPF savings.

- Who owns TNB? The Rakyat - both ways.
Eric says EPF, PNB, KWAP, & Tabung Haji are shareholders. True. But Khazanah &the MOF also hold 20%, & their tax collections fund-
-Public health
-School upgrades
-Diesel subsidies
-Flood mitigation
So stop this nonsense about “rakyat kena curi duit”. Tax paid to LHDN = rakyat services funded.

This isn’t “Madani sneaking money”. This is LHDN doing its job - enforcing the law. If TNB under-declared taxes, should we just let it slide to protect share prices?

Funny how Eric never asked this question when-

-1MDB owed LHDN billions

-RM19.4b in GST refunds went missing

-IPPs got sweetheart tax deals

As a rakyat & taxpayer, I support enforcement - so long as it’s fair, transparent, & legal. Don’t care who you are - GLC, tycoon, or cronies. If you owe taxes, pay up.
Stop misleading the public with cherry-picked outrage, Eric.

The real scandal isn’t TNB paying taxes.
It’s that some people stayed dead silent when billions were stolen, but now suddenly scream when it’s recovered.
