MC is price x supply. 
If i make shit-coin with XXX billion supply and put X coin on dex to sell for $X - Essentially my shitcoins MC is XXX Billion. And since nobody can sell anything, im golden. 

So yeah MC does not tell you all story behind. 
Its not stocks where its similar, but there is more going on behind than Crypro markets. Mostly because its regulated. 

MC metric is totally fake in crypto.

There are many coins in TOP, exploiting exactly this.
