Most on chain storage are not bulid for data storage only they were bulid for a grab a huge costs if you run smart contracts you pay gas you can store data but pay huge for it 

That where Irys datachain come in onchain vaults playground they flip every traditional things  store first compute later 
Cheap permanent onchain storage 

Early datachains sloved how to keep data onchain without huge cost but they stopped at storage 
the data just sits there it doesn't power anything or interact or fule other applications and ecosystem 

Datachains should do more than store active that data make it usable
 
@irys_xyz make usable data with datachain that make living data it's verifiable  and ready to integrated across applications and ecosystem
