I planned to focus on other passions of mine - and things my community has specifically asked for, such as public school funding, lower property taxes and legalization of cannabis. They’ve also asked for expanded reproductive rights - along with XX% of other Texans, but it is never the first thing on anyone’s list. That was before I knew the depths of evil percolating in the Texas State Legislature. We have reached crisis stage here in Texas. We all know that Greg Abbott is owned by Christian Nationalists Wilks/Dunn and Yass, and that this trio funded the Abbott freshmen who were put in place to finally get school vouchers over the finish line. I didn’t know that it didn’t stop there. They’ve been installed to enact the ENTIRE far right agenda. And next on the list? Abortion abolition. What is that? Allow me to explain how much further they can take a state which has already banned abortion. - Ken Paxton has successfully fought to gain access to private medical records of women who leave the state to seek abortion care, so they can be prosecuted upon returning to Texas. - There is a current bill that would reschedule mifepristone as a schedule IV drug, which means that it will no longer be accessible via telemedicine. - There are towns in Texas who have already passed laws making it illegal to use the city roads - yes ROADS - to travel on if you are seeking abortion care. - This last session, they passed a bill that prohibits any local municipalities from spending local tax dollars on any abortion related travel expenses. So local control is gone. And while this list is not all-encompassing - lastly, - There is a fetal personhood bill currently filed, which would make women who self abort eligible for the death penalty. People don’t know how bad it is. Hell, even I didn’t know how bad it is. They want to track women, control women, and force them to provide biological labor AGAINST THEIR WILL to fulfill their vision for where we belong in society. It is SICK. It is TWISTED. And I will fight until my last BREATH to stop this. We will NOT be slaves of the state. Not NOW, not EVER. XXXXX engagements [Post Link](https://x.com/SaraForTexLege/status/1948929084198719619)
