Muhammad wasn't the first Meccan to renounce his success, status, material interest for spirituality in Mecca. Many before him did, they were known as Hanifs (Enlightened). Hanifs before Muhammad didn't try to change the political system in an attempt to awaken the masses. Muhammad was the only Hanif who tried. By doing so, our hero, mixed two dangerous components, politics and spirituality which gave him limitless powers. The expansion of Islamic collective consciousness depends on this toxic brew (Islam). To undo the chaos Muhammad ignited 1450 years ago, we need a united effort to separate Islam from politics.
