⚠️ A grenade has not been found and remains missing after the explosion at a training facility that killed three Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies, the sheriff said Friday.  Sheriff Robert Luna said that one of two grenades that were found in Santa Monica last Thursday exploded the next day at the sheriff's training facility in East L.A., killing three detectives, but the second grenade has not been found.

A grenade has not been found and remains missing after the explosion at a training facility that killed three Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies, the sheriff said Friday.

Sheriff Robert Luna said that one of two grenades that were found in Santa Monica last Thursday exploded the next day at the sheriff's training facility in East L.A., killing three detectives, but the second grenade has not been found.

Luna said a thorough search has been conducted of the training center, but the grenade is still missing.

The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has taken command of the search effort and investigation.

Luna said anyone who sees a grenade-like device should not touch it but should call XXX so investigators can retrieve the item.
