Ra'sha al-A'air was a ten-year-old girl from Gaza who survived the bombing of her home in June last year. After that terrifying experience, she wrote a will—a note she tucked into her pocket with red ink, hoping to ease the pain her family might feel.

This is what she wrote:

"Please don't cry for me, it hurts me to see you crying. Give my clothes to those in need, Share my belongings—my bead boxes, pocket money, books, notebooks, and toys—with my cousins .Please don't shout at my brother Ahmad, I hope you will respect my wishes."

On September 30, tragedy struck again. The house was bombed once more. Ra'sha was killed, and alongside her, her brother Ahmad, who was eleven. Both were buried side by side. Few, if anyone, in her family survived to respect her wishes.
