Zebby Matthews o4.5 Ks (-155) 🪜 XXX Ks (+140) 🪜 XXX Ks (+275) Happy Zebby Day. We backed him last time and he came through at +money against the Rockies in Coors. Now gets another solid matchup here against WSH, but at home in Minnesota. Zebby was typically a guy who dominated RHB in AAA but lately has been super solid against LHB. XX% K% vs LHB his last X starts. Washington will start upwards of 6-7 lefties like the always do. His slider is his best pitch to target here against the lefties, where he’s dominated on getting teams to chase at it. Has generated XX whiffs in XX at bats with it this season outside of the zone with XXXX% K% (pretty insane). Even better is that not one single lefty this season has a hit off his slider outside the zone. Like, none. At all. Nationals against RHP sliders outside the zone... 2nd most Ks, 7th highest K%, 5th most whiffs over the last XX days. Chase Burns is very similar in this regard with his location and racked up XX whiffs with X Ks off his outside slider against the Nationals too... Nats over the last week = 4th lowest outside zone contact % in the MLB. However, they are top XX in O Swing %. Basically, when they chase, they fail. Zebby is also top XX in first pitch strike % in the MLB this season, he loves to try and set himself up for the punch out early. The Nats are 6th in first pitch strike % over the last week, meaning we should see plenty of early 2-strike counts, leaning on Zebby to be able to finish them is the key.
