We scheduled a 48hr test drive online. Arrived, and the dealership refused the test drive, stating they had no record of the reservation even though he was showing them on his phone the reservation which clearly said XX hours, with a confirmation. They had never driven an electric car had no idea what to expect, Tesla's are easy but for a new person with apprehensions of trying something new, especially with a baby on the way and picking a family car, they need guidance and reassurance. They got neither, had I not been there they would have walked and never experienced the drive, FSD, or any great Tesla features. They needed someone to explain and answer questions. You are training sales people and staff to be stand off, not hands off, to do as little as possible and let the car sell itself. There are way to many stories on X and elsewhere on how this is failing and sending customers back to gas cars or other brands. People do want low pressure, People also want relationship. If you do not build a relationship with your customers they will either be a non-tesla owner or a X time tesla owner. It does not matter if you have the best product in the world, if you don't treat people as relational beings, you will lose them, if not the first time, eventually. You don't have to. There is a middle ground, no pressure, informative, helpful, relational experiences that reassure people you are genuinely interested in helping meet there needs. Buying new Technology, a Tesla is not and should not be like getting a Coke from a vending machine. You can do better, I look forward to seeing it.
