I remember back during Beryl when I found X assisted living facilities full of low income elderly folks that needed care, generators, food, water medicine etc that hadn’t even been contacted by anyone in the city/county. The facilities were in HC Precinct X and overlapped the 18th congressional district. My team and I contacted Ellis and SJL’s offices no less than XX times in X days and didn’t get a single response. Yet, they were all posting about the “good things” they were doing for people everywhere else with photo shoots galore. Out of desperation for these people I then started contacting EVERYBODY. And guess who showed up? And I’m not making this up… Republicans that don’t even represent the area. They came and they helped and they didn’t want the recognition for it either. They did it because it was the right thing to do. So when I say this area has not had good representation for a long time, I am right. And I don’t care who gets elected from which party as long as they actually work for their district instead of enriching themselves. Ah good times.
