The National Labor Assistance Professionals (LAP) is an organization of trade unionists dedicated to helping fellow members during times of personal crisis. The LAP’s mission is to ensure that all workers and their families have access to effective, high-quality chemical dependency and mental health treatment services. For union members seeking support, the LAP offers Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) specifically tailored to individual needs. “Teamsters across the country act as Employee Assistance Representatives, providing support and connecting members and their families with vital treatments for mental health and addiction issues,” said Thomas Vitiello, Teamsters Local XX Employee Assistance Representative. “Being a Teamster is being in a family. We look out for and support each other in the worst of times.
