If we were today ~5 years earlier or later on the path regarding the social and political issues (ie. if 2025-era AI had coincided with end of trump I and covid start, or on the other hand if "the GPT moment" coincided with what you expect 2027 society and politics to be), how much less surprised would you be?

I model today's level of social and political craziness as being somewhere around a "once per 50-100 years" phenomenon, so if you'd be equally surprised if 2025-era AI coincided with any point in a 10-year range in the cycle, that's only ~3 bits of coincidence
