'Western Civilisation' was birthed in the 17th century by the Reformed Christan faith of English Puritans and a Dutch Stadholder named William.

It did build on the roots of Magna Carta and Habius Corpus in the 13th/14th, both of which were opposed by Rome.

So the true 'catholic and apostolic' church built Western Civilization primarily in spite of the efforts of Rome.
