🚨 It’s official: Messi and Jordi Alba have been suspended by MLS for tomorrow’s game vs. Cincinnati due to their absence from the All-Star Game. 

While I don’t agree with the decision; I fully expected both to suit up, I have to say: MLS did right by its fans by sticking to the rules.

Let’s be honest… who knows what kind of circus would’ve unfolded if they hadn’t enforced the policy? 

That said, it’s time for the league to seriously reassess this ridiculous rule. All-Star Games in the middle of a packed season make no sense — and punishing players for managing their bodies is not it.

MLS needs to adjust this policy moving forward. The game is evolving — the rules should too.
